Lois and John Day have been volunteers with Columbus Audubon since 1962! That’s over 55 years of caring for our local birds and environment.

The Columbus Audubon Help Hotline’s physical phone line was located at the Days’ residence for many years and Lois was the “voice of Columbus Audubon” for those who made calls to seek help on identifying birds, understanding bird behavior and getting information on how to care for an injured bird.

Lois was recently awarded the newly created “Lois Day EcoWeekend Outstanding Volunteer Award” for her 45 years of continuous service to the EcoWeekend event, and she and John spent an enjoyable time telling stories from their years of volunteer service with Columbus Audubon.

Lois was interviewed by Tim Daniel and you can view this short video and hear just a few of these great stories!

Spend a few more minutes watching other interviews of our valued volunteers.

THANK YOU LOIS AND JOHN for your many years of sustaining Columbus Audubon!
