Conservation Spotlight: Calamus Swamp
February 22, 2017

Filling the role of Office Assistant, our newest full-time staff member is Robert “R.C.” Worrell! Having grown up in tree-filled Yellow Springs, Ohio, he was imbued with a love of the natural world from the very beginning.

Choosing the liberal arts road, he attended the College of Wooster and graduated in 2015 with a B.A. in English and a double-minor in Art History and Philosophy. As part of the College’s curriculum, he completed an independent thesis his senior year, choosing to focus on the themes of environmental conservation and stewardship found throughout J.R.R. Tolkien’s letters and fictional works. Conscious of the tough job market for liberal arts students, he is very grateful to have found a place among such like-minded and excellent people as his new coworkers.

When he isn’t trying to catch up on learning bird calls, he might be gardening, cooking, reading, writing, or traveling. His is the first office down the administrative hallway, so please do stop in to say hello! He will accept any and all tips on flower gardening, baking, keeping houseplants alive, and how, exactly, to use Excel.
