Earth Day was a huge success for all of Columbus and Grange Insurance Audubon Center was honored to participate! Conservation & Outreach Manager Michael Goldman kicked of the day when he gave a speech at the March for Science. This march was part of a national movement to incorporate more science in decision making policies of the new administration, and was attended by thousands in satellite marches across the world. His speech focused on what birds tell us, and what we can all do to help them. The crowd of over 5500 then marched into the Columbus Commons for an amazing Earth Day festival complete with food trucks, live music, and a wealth of local green organizations. Although it was a bit chilly, volunteers and staff managed the Grange Insurance Audubon Center booth handing out literature, talking about birds, and showing off a really cool American Bullfrog. By the end of the day, children and adults left the festival with smiles on their faces, having learned much about conservation and what birds tell us.
